About me:

I've published articles and photographs in a wide variety of publications, including Salon, Scientific American, Sierra, Smithsonian, ... even a few that don't begin with 'S'. I recently became Senior Editor at California magazine, UC Berkeley's alumni publication. I live in Oakland with my wife, two kids and a dog. Let's see ... what else? The photo to the right is of me and my niece Lian striking our warrior poses on the beach in Cape Cod. We're both trying very hard to be serious.
